Recipe: Healthiest Dessert Brownies

Black beans and all clean ingredients are the solution! The best part about these nutrient-dense desserts is that you will never know you are eating beans, unless you are the one making it of course! Black beans add valuable protein to the recipe and will make the most social media-worthy, moist and tasty brownies you will ever eat!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 1/2 cups black beans (1 15-oz can, drained and rinsed very well)
  • 2 tbsp Flaxseed meal
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup quick oats
  • 1/4 tsp Celtic sea salt
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup, honey or agave
  • 1/2 cup almond milk or plant-based milk
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup to 2/3 cup vegan chocolate chips

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degree Fahrenheit.
  2. Combine flaxseed meal with 6 tbsp water in a small bowl. Let mixture stand for 5 minutes.
  3. Combine all ingredients (except chocolate chips) in a food processor and blend until smooth.
  4. Stir in the chocolate chips and pour mixture into an 8in x 8in greased pan.
  5. Bake for 15-18 minutes and let the brownies cool for an additional 10 minutes before cutting and serving.
